First Level Supervisor Training (Supervisors play a key role in ensuring the job gets done safely, productively, on time and on budget. This course will introduce you to all aspects of supervision, beginning with the communication module. In this module, the supervision basics of the following topics are covered: writing, listening, verbal/non-verbal communication, and intercultural communication.)
The course then examines the supervisor’s role with respect to leadership, planning, and managing. Topics that are covered include developing your work team, resolving conflict, managing your time, planning and scheduling work, productivity, maintaining quality, and taking corrective action.
The final module covers safety, as everything the course teaches needs to be accomplished with safety in mind. Preventing incidents and promoting safety is one of your most important roles as a supervisor or front line leader. As well, in the event a safety incident occurs, there are procedures that you will be required to follow that will be covered in this course.

This course has been accredited by the Canadian Construction Association (CCA) for four (4) credits toward Gold Seal Certification. A final mark of 100% is required in order to receive a certificate of completion.
This course is intended to assist supervisors, foremen and others who wants to become First Level Supervisors in any part of the country, in any sector (residential or non-residential).
